Field trips are planned regularly to supplement the classroom experience with special emphasis on introducing the children to their community.

Specific information for each field trip is provided to parents and students by the Teacher and/or Field Trip Coordinator. A sign-up sheet is posted for any interested parents to volunteer to drive their children and others to the field trip. A caravan is arranged so that the group arrives and departs all at the same time. In the past, the classes have visited:

  • Nature Walks - Bradbury Mountain, Twin Brooks, Pineland Farms

  • Fire Department

  • Post Office

  • Local Farms  (goats, cows, alpaca, sheep, etc.)

  • Library

  • Museums

  • Maine Audubon

  • Mabel I. Wilson Elementary School

  • Sledding at Val Halla

  • Southworth Planetarium - USM

  • Merrill Auditorium

The kids always look forward to CCNS annual events like Dad's Night Out, Mother's Tea, Thanksgiving Gathering, Valentine’s Day Party, Holiday Party with Santa and more!
